Sowing Hope

Help Grow Food for Our Market!

Climate change, disruptions in supply chains, and labour market challenges will continue to result in higher food costs and negatively impact many of our community members. Kerr Street Mission is committed to promoting sustainable solutions that will aid in equipping our community members and younger generations to thrive in a changing world.

Sowing Hope is premised on the understanding that growing food locally, whether at home or in a community garden, is one of the most effective means of increasing food security in our resilient communities. Most importantly, engaging younger generations is critical to the continued development of community leaders and active community participants.

Learning and growing together in a community garden fosters an inspiring space where people can develop meaningful connections and skills while younger generations are empowered to take ownership of establishing more sustainable and food-secure communities.
