Group Volunteering

• Purchase & prepare a meal for approx. 42 clients and interact with our clients while serving the meal.
• Prepaid menu options are available if you’d like us to purchase the food on your group’s behalf. See our prepaid menu options here.

• Minimum age of 14.

• Sponsor a shelf in our food bank for a month or more, focusing your food drive or fundraising effort on a particular item. (e.g. providing canned tuna for one month).
• Have your team join us on a tour of KSM to learn about our history and program offerings.

Kerr Street Plays a crucial role in ensuring that every family experiences the joy of unwrapping a gift during the holidays. Tasks that groups can assist us with is as follows:

• Local poster distribution
• Acting as personal shoppers for pyjama and toy distribution
• Sorting & set up
• Cleaning up after the event

• Attend our offsite sorting centre to sort and organize our food donations. Double check for damage and expiry dates, ensuring that our clients are receiving the best quality food possible. Sorting times and dates are subject to the quantity of food donations that we have on hand.
• Suitable for groups up to 15 people.
• Minimum age of 12.

Location: Burloak & Mainway, Burlington

Days: Tuesday-Friday between 8:30 am-12:00 pm or 12:30 pm-4:00 pm

• Our kitchen is a remarkably busy place! Help us keep it sparkling and up to our high-quality standards by helping with a Deep Clean. This includes activities like: Wiping & scrubbing all surfaces disassemble ovens & grills, soak components. Scrub and replace all parts. Inspect hoods and remove built up grease. Empty and refill filters for both deep fryers and boil out fryers sweep, and mop floors re-organize supplies.
• Suitable for groups up to 5 people.

• This is an amazing opportunity for groups to host a BBQ for 200+ campers and their families.
• The group will be responsible for purchasing, preparing, and serving our campers and their families.
• Suitable for groups of up to 10 people.

Days: Thursdays in July & August, late afternoon

• This is an amazing team building opportunity for groups to help us spruce up our facilities.
• Past projects include painting rooms, gardening, indoor/outdoor cleanup. Depending on the activity, we welcome groups of up to 15 people to help us out.
• This opportunity is great for groups that have a particular skill or background.
